for color management, each device (including scanners, digital cameras, monitors, printers, etc.) needs its own characteristic files. Each characteristic file of these devices associates the color data of the device with the standard color space, and combines them to produce a complete conversion process. In order to generate these characteristic files, a target image for measurement is required. For example, a medium-sized photo can be used by the scanner, but it is better to use it8.7/2 standard color code for scanning the reflection draft and it8.7/1 standard color code for scanning the transmission draft. The printer should use the printed matter containing color blocks, and it is best to use it8.7/3, which contains 928 color blocks. The monitor needs more color block target images

ICC does not clearly recommend which CMM to use, because some CMM is more meaningful as a special application by picking up the special label information in the characteristic file. Many high-end rip includes a CMM and a Photoshop program, enabling people to use a simple combination of feature files, because Photoshop also includes a CMM. CMM in Apple computer is a part of the operating system, called colorsync. CMM in windows in PC is ICM. Most software manufacturers that make feature files can also use their software to make specific CMM

2. What color management spaces are mainly used in color management? What is PCs

One is the device independent color space, mainly including CIE XYZ and CIE LAB color space (see Figure 1). The other is the color space related to equipment, mainly RGB (see Figure 2) and CMYK color space

The relative chromaticity method is to change the white dot calibration. All colors change according to the change of the calibration point, but do not do gamut compression. The color in the super excellent spatial range is replaced by the color with the closest gamut boundary. Saturation method is a nonlinear compression of saturation, which is not necessarily faithful to the original. When the equipment conditions allow, China is still in the stage of industrialization, informatization, urbanization, marketization and internationalization. Absolute chromaticity method means that the color in the output color gamut remains unchanged after conversion, and the color beyond the color gamut is replaced by the color at the boundary of the color gamut
